 Fab Tech utilizes PTC ProEngineer CAD software which allows us to view many different types of computer generated engineering drawings. We can receive files from customers via the internet which can dramatically reduce lead time. It also enables us to work very closely with design engineers during the prototype phase to bring their design to production more quickly. Some large equipment designers are producing drawings showing only critical dimensions to save time. Many of these drawings lack all of the dimensions necessary to produce the part; however, with our software capability, we can retrieve the dimensions needed from the CAD model. Of course many customers only provide paper drawings through the mail and we can certainly handle that method, too. Although we function primarily as a job shop (receiving custom drawings from customers and producing their parts) we also have the ability to design and produce components to meet specific needs if the customer desires.   Drawing files from ProE can be imported into CAD/CAM software from Amada and MetalSoft to layout and write CNC G-code programs which are downloaded to the turrets for punching flat patterns. Using this software, we can also draw the flat patterns ourselves from paper drawings and then generate G-code and download to the machines. Back to Equipment List
